چکیده

TiN coatings with a thickness of 2 μm were deposited using the magnetron sputtering has developed rapidly over last decade in such way that it become an established process choice for deposition wide range various applications different domains as gives excellent performance many aspects. In view this, we have by Ti target at nitrogen content to study influence on mechanical properties and tribological behaviors systematically investigated nanoindentation pin-on-disk tribometer. Nanoindentation results shows hardness Young's modulus increase increasing N coatings.Wear test indicate wear rate friction coefficient XC100 steel substrate significantly reduced coatings, are strongly dependent coatings.

Microstructure, Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Reactive Magnetron Sputtered Titanium Carbide Coatings

This study describes the correlation between the microstructure, mechanical and tribological properties of Ti1-xCx coatings (with x being in the range of 0-1), deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering from a Ti target in Ar/C2H2 mixtures at ~200 °C. The mechanical and tribological properties were found to strongly depend on the chemical composition and the microstructure present. Very dense s...

Metal carbide/amorphous C-based nanocomposite coatings for tribological applications

This paper tries to assess the factors governing the tribological behaviour of different nanocomposites films composed by metallic carbides (MeC) mixed with amorphous carbon (a-C). Different series of MeC/a-C coatings (with Me: Ti(B) and W) were prepared by magnetron sputtering technique varying the power applied to the graphite target in order to tailor the carbon content into the films. A dee...

Effect of the metal concentration on the structural, mechanical and tribological properties of self-organized a-C:Cu hard nanocomposite coatings

The influence of the metal content (0-28 at.%) on the structural, mechanical and tribological properties of a-C:Cu films grown by pulsed filtered cathodic arc deposition is investigated. Silicon and AISI 301 stainless steel have been used as substrate materials. The microstructure, composition and bonding structure have been determined by scanning electron microscopy; combined Rutherford backsc...

Surface Characterization and Tribological Behaviour of Ti-Ni-P Intermetallic Coatings on Titanium Alloys

In this research, tribological behavior of Ti-Ni-P intermetallic coatings on titanium substrates have been investigated under dry reciprocating conditions. Hardness profile testing results exhibit that high surface hardness has been attained and static indentation result shows that the intermetallic coating has better adhesion strength than the conventional ceramic coatings. In this respect, th...
